Behind the Scenes of the Blissful Barn Photo

How do you create a photograph for a wedding barn when there's barely a barn there?

That was the problem when we started to create marketing materials for the Blissful Barn during the early days of it's renovation. The barn was going through a significant restoration resulting in it being far from ready for a traditional approach to photographing a wedding venue. 

The barn's roof and iconic cupola were ready, so I had a telescoping boom lift hoist me and the model, Karla, well above the sightline of the construction. Despite the late November wind and cold, Karla, posed like a consummate professional, never letting on how uncomfortable and unnerving it was to be 30 feet off the ground.
